datalex cuts jobs to reduce costs

TECHNOLOGY company Datalex has reported a steep fall in
revenues for the quarter ending September 30.

Revenues fell to $5.7 million, a drop of 20% compared to the
same period last year.

Earlier in the year the company announced a number of cost cutting
measures. Following the terrorist attacks in the US, it has axed a number of
jobs to slash costs even further.

Datalex now employees 267 people, down from 379 in August.

Datalex chief executive officer Neil Beck said: “This has
clearly been a disappointing quarter for us, and it is evident that the events
of September 11 in the United States have further damaged an already distressed
economy.”
