transatlantic flights return to normal

TRANSATLANTIC flights to the US have returned to normal
following the reopening of US airspace.

The only reported problem has been the cancellation of
American Airlines flight 101, which was scheduled to leave Heathrow at 10am and
land at New York JFK at 12.55pm. The flight has been cancelled as a knock on
effect of yesterday’s events.

British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and United Airlines are all
operating normally without delays or cancellations.

New York’s airspace was closed for several hours yesterday
afternoon when an American Airlines flight destined for the Dominican Republic
crashed shortly after take off. It is not known what caused the crash, although
authorities in the US are reported to have said there is no evidence it was a
terrorist attack.
