destination guide launched for Northumbria

THE NORTHUMBRIA Tourist Board has launched a
destination guide and itinerary package to encourage tour operators back to the
region in the wake of the foot and mouth crisis.

The Top Tours pack includes details of different
tours, aiming to give operators a one-stop-shop for planning tours to the
region.

The NTB chose the tours included to highlight the
diversity of life in Northumberland including city breaks and rural retreats.

It has been launched alongside its Travel Trade
Directory 2002, which includes maps of the routes through the region as well as
a list of accommodation and tourist attractions with details of group
discounts.

NTB head of marketing Richard
Spencer said: “The pack will give operators no excuse to ignore what we
offer tourists and we hope this will kick start a new year for tourism in
Northumbria.”
