RAIL Europe has reduced a number of fares for high-speed rail journeys from London to mainland Europe in its second-edition Simplicity brochure.
Return, standard-class journeys from London to Angers, Tours, Reims, Dijon and Poitiers start from £90 and standard-class return fares are reduced by £20 per person for most major Italian cities.
Meanwhile, first-class fares to Amsterdam and Bruges start at £199 per person, a reduction of £40 and £45 respectively.
The biggest savings of £50 per person are available with first-class return fares from London Waterloo to Geneva, now £208 per person.
The Simplicity brochure is primarily targeted at consumers but can be used as a reference guide for agents who can order a copy via viewdata.
The programme contains easy-to-read maps, timetables and tariffs for European rail travel.
Also, new lower priced first-class travel is now available on Europe’s 187mph trains.
n June 2000 will see the opening of a new TGV station at French attraction Futuroscope. This will replace the current shuttle bus service from Poitiers.
