DUTCH company Friezenberg is in talks to acquire business
travel specialists Seaforths Travel from the TelMe group in a deal worth £4
million.
In addition to acquiring Seaforths, Friezenberg will also
take control of the TelMe travel technology businesses. The deal is expected to
be completed later this month.
A statement issued by TelMe said it was selling its travel
interests because they had not performed as expected. It also hopes to reduce
the risk of making losses because of the difficult trading conditions faced by
the travel industry.
TelMe will now concentrate on its customer relationship
management interests.
Meanwhile, interim results for the six months ending
September 30 revealed TelMe made a loss of £200,000, compared to losses in the
same period last year of £700,000.
