VIETNAM REPORTS STRONG TOURISM DECADE
Visitor numbers to Vietnam have increased by an average of 7% each year in the past decade. In 1990, there were 250,000 arrivals but by 1997 this had risen to 1.7m. It dropped in 1998 but returned to 1.78m last year.
SINGAPORE VISITORS INCREASE BY 7.5%
Singapore attracted 616,005 visitors from around the world in December last year, which represents a year-on-year increase of 7.5%.
