Silversea offers clients free flight upgrades

SILVERSEA Cruises is offering free flight upgrades to passengers who book the operator’s first round-the-world itinerary.

The cruiseline’s 126-day Los Angeles-London voyage on board Silver Wind starts on January 3 2001, calling at over 50 ports in 30 countries, including Hawaii, the South Pacific, Australia, New Zealand, India and the Middle East.

Passengers who book the entire cruise, or a 111-day segment from Los Angeles to Monte Carlo, will receive a free air ticket upgrade to first class. Those who book a segment lasting over 50 days get a business-class upgrade.

Silversea vice-president sales and marketing for Europe, Africa and Middle East, Steve Odell, said the introduction of a world cruise is a natural evolution for the cruiseline.

“An increasing number of our guests extend their cruise by taking three, four or five voyages back to back, and Silversea has always offered non-repetitive itineraries to accommodate these guests,” said Odell. “The world cruise offers a programme focused on exploring a number of exotic regions around the world.”

The world cruise also features 15 two or three-day port calls including San Francisco, Honolulu, Auckland, Melbourne, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Phuket, Bombay, Safaga, Port Said, Istanbul, Messina and Bordeaux.

Odell said:”These extended overnight stays offer Silversea guests more time to experience all of the sights these destinations have to offer.”

Select segments of the cruise will feature guest speakers and presentations by master chefs of Le Cordon Bleu Academy as well as contributors to National Geographic.

The full cruise costs £44,495 for the 126-day cruise. Six segments are available, ranging from 15-111 days and cost from £6,455-£39,995. Members of Silversea’s club, the Venetian Society, can get a 10% discount on the price of the full cruise or any segment.
