DynaVision develops display system for agencies

ANEW agency software system has been launched that allows travel agents to feature holidays alongside video footage or pictures of the destination being promoted.

The system, DynaVision, has been developed by Preston-based Fairfield Digital Solutions. Managing director Neal Walmsley said it can be linked into most travel agency systems, PCs or Teletext.

Details, with prices, will then be displayed on one screen in an agency, with the second screen automatically showing pictures linked to the destination.

“Large travel agents tend to have video footage or pictures of destinations they sell. Smaller agents will be able to get pictures from tour operators, brochures or from the Internet,” said Walmsley.

The holidays are to be programmed at head office, but promotions can be changed at the touch of a button in the branch, enabling agents to call up a holiday that is likely to appeal to a customer in the agency. Walmsley said the system also keeps a record of what is shown, so agents can see how effective each advert has been in generating sales. He said two multiples are trialling the system at head office, and FDS is in talks with a third major agency, but he refused to name them.
