EUROSTAR has revealed a loss £3 million for the quarter
ending March 31.
Total ticket sales were 1,769,268, 6.65 down on the same
period last year. Revenue was also down by 6.8% to £104.4 million.
Commenting on the results Eurostar group chairman David
Azema said: “These results should be seen in context. They are being compared
with the very favourable market conditions that existed in the first quarter of
2001 before the onset of the foot and mouth epidemic in the UK and the impact
of the economic slowdown.”
