Avro acts on agents advice for Orbit 2000

FLIGHT-only specialist Avro has launched a booking system offering a range of features suggested by agents themselves.

Orbit 2000 retains the system’s scanned data facility but also allows agents to make special requests, cross-reference bookings, increase or decrease party sizes, change one or both flight legs and locate bookings by passenger name.

Agents can also book any combination of flights and make their own administrative changes, resulting in a greater control of bookings.

Orbit 2000 manager Alison Facey said agents were fully consulted and invited to help improve the system.

“Agents who have used the original system have been very positive about Orbit 2000,” said Facey. “All users have received full training on the latest system, with many of their recommendations from these sessions being incorporated into the new system.”

The development of Orbit 2000 is part of an overall upgrade of Avro’s back-office systems.
