American in biggest-ever loss

AMERICAN Airlines has created history by recording the
biggest loss in aviation history.

very existence is under threat unless significant savings are made.

Chairman and chief executive Don Carty wants $4 billion in
cost-cutting to stay afloat, which means wage freezes, route cuts and greater
efficiency.
