tourism downturn continues

UK
ARRIVALS last year were 1.8% down on 2001, with just three months – September,
October and November – showing comparative growth.

December
continued the year’s slump, leading the British Incoming Tour Operators
Association to say results “are not the best” but the best it could
have hoped for.

However,
forward bookings continue to rise.
