THOMSON and Thomas Cook have forged ahead with national
advertising campaigns for the first time since war broke out amid warnings of a
summer “sales scramble”.
Thomson has launched a larger across-the-board lates
campaign under its “final clearance” banner, while Thomas Cook has started a
five-week promotion specifically on May and June cruises. Both are to feature in
national newspapers this weekend.
MyTravel has stressed its
promotions would be smaller than rivals up to now but claimed it had
“reasonable advertising campaigns” lined up for lates.
