ABTA is predicting that a record 1.8 million UK
holidaymakers will leave the country this Easter weekend, despite the recent
downturn caused by the war in Iraq and SARS in southeast Asia.
The Canary Islands, Spain and the Balearics remain the top
short-haul destination, while cheap deals to Florida and the Caribbean have
prompted good strong long-haul sales.
The encouraging signs come as ABTA and Travel Weekly
continue to promote the great offers currently available as part of our joint
Gimme a Break campaign to get people travelling again.
