BA figures reflect gloom

British Airways saw premium traffic savaged during
April, down by more than a quarter on the same period last year.

According to the flag carrier’s latest traffic
figures, overall passenger numbers, as measured in revenue passenger
kilometres, were 2% lower than 2002.

The carrier warned bookings continue to be impacted by
weak global economic markets, SARS and the war in Iraq.
