AGENT TIPS ON BOOKINGS
The two facts reservations staff need are rental location, and date and time of collection and drop off. Time is important as it can mean the difference between a seven or eight-day rate.
The reservations agent needs an ABTA number to go into the system and get a quote. Rental rates for various models can be quoted.
After quoting a rate, the reservations agent talks through contract details. If the agent wants to book, the client’s name and flight number is needed for completion.
Agents can also book over viewdata – about 50% of Suncars’ reservations are made this way. Suncars expects to start rolling out its Consolidata Plus booking system to agents early in the new year. Being trialled now by Trailfinders, it uses the Internet network and holds on-screen all the information that reservation agents need to look up in their manual.
