Staff seek legal advice over Lastminute row

MORE than 40 Lastminute.com reservations staff have
consulted lawyers in their row with management about enforced changes to
working hours and commission payments.

Staff met lawyers in a location close to Lastminute’s
headquarters in London last week to discuss possible legal action.

The on-line agency could be liable for breach of
contract and indirect sexual discrimination, claims lawyer Rashmi Chopra, who
is advising staff on the legal options. “There appears to be a strong case,”
she said.

UK
managing director Helen Webb said the company was not aware of any
circumstances where the company was liable for legal action. She said
Lastminute was still consulting staff, while new conditions were not yet
confirmed.
