UPMARKET specialist Unicorn is aiming to build on strong sales to Provence by adding three hotels in the region to its Best of France 2000 programme.
All additions are four star and situated away from the glitzy coastal strip which the operator claims has become too mass market.
Managing director Jim Southon said the resort of Le Touquet, on the western coast, has been dropped for that reason.
“Le Touquet is close to the Channel ports and demand has increased considerably,” he said. “But once destinations lose their exclusivity we find that our clients abandon them.”
The new hotels in Provence are all situated inland, which are the most popular locations, added Southon. Options include £666 per person for two nights’ half-board in Les Bories. Self-drive, flydrive and short breaks are all featured in the programme while itineraries taking in the Pyrenees and northern Spain are also on offer.
