BRITISH
Airways marketing chief Martin George has clinched the new role of commercial
director – taking over from head of worldwide sales Dale Moss.
George’s new
role – as predicted by Travel Weekly in April – will incorporate all of the
airline’s global sales and marketing activities.
George is
currently director of marketing and commercial development and has been with BA
since 1987, becoming director of marketing 10 years later.
Prior to joining the
aviation industry, he worked for Cadbury’s marketing department.
He starts
the new role in July and will continue to report to chief executive Rod
Eddington.
Separately,
BA general manager fleet and network planning Robert Boyle has been promoted to
the role of director of commercial planning on the airline’s leadership team
reporting directly to Eddington.
