Wardrope to leave Travel Channel

TRAVEL Channel commercial director Gary Wardrope is to
leave the company at the end of the summer.

Wardrope, who has been with the channel since 2000, is
currently exploring options to set up a new business.

It is understood one possibility could be a dynamic
packaging business selling lifestyle products.

“There are a lot of different options I am looking
at,” said Wardrope, who has already been approached by several companies.

Wardrope was responsible for the recent rebranding and
integration of Travel Deals Direct into Lunn Poly Television and also oversees
advertising and sponsorship for the Travel Channel.

Lunn Poly signed a deal with Travel Channel on June 1
to launch its first television shopping channel, showcasing a range of holidays

18 hours a day (Travel Weekly, May 17).

Wardrope added: “I’ve had a great time at the Travel
Channel and feel the time is right to explore new ventures in the industry.”
