NEW TUI UK managing director Peter Rothwell has axed five senior
directors and announced a new TUI UK

board just days into his new role following ex-MD Chris
Mottershead’s departure last week.

David Rowe, managing director of the Kingston-based Specialist
Holidays Group and Iain Fenton, SHG’s sales director, have both
been axed as SHG is brought under the remit of UK business.

Chief financial officer Will Waggott becomes MD of SHG on an
interim basis.

TUI UK marketing director Hugh Edwards has also been made
redundant following the decision to merge the sales and marketing
functions under Miles Morgan.

Morgan, who was previously head of retail, becomes sales and
marketing director. TUI UK commercial director Derek Jones will now
be responsible for all TUI UK’s commercial terms and will take
operational responsibility for TUI UK’s retail business.

TUI UK finance director Fred Stratford has also gone, along with
communications director Sonia Davies.

The new TUI UK board is as follows: Kevin Hatton, MD of
Britannia; Will Waggott, chief financial officer; Miles Morgan,
sales and marketing; Colin Mitchell, planning and development;
David Burling, planning and trading; David Harper, contracting; and
Lee Ormesher, customer operations. Also on the board, reporting to
Waggott, are Keith Newman, IT, and Dominic Mahony, HR.

Rothwell, who retains his role as chief executive Northern
Europe, said: “I will now start a process of reviewing the business
operations under this new structure so we can develop the business
strategy for the future.”
