SEAT-only operator Avro is in consultation with 57 call
centre and customer service staff over moving its Bromley call
centre to Stockport.
Avro managing director Andrew Nicholson denied the proposed
switch to parent company Cosmos’ Stockport call centre was
purely a cost-cutting operation.
He claimed the move would improve the operator’s systems
by putting the seat-only operator on the group-wide IT system.
Avro has now entered a 30-day consultation period with 57
staff.
Around 25 sales, commercial product and pricing staff will
remain in Bromley.
“It’s regrettable,” he said. “The move makes commercial
sense as it moves us on to the group’s single technology
platform.”
