BRITISH Airways is expected to boost its revenue by £40m next year due to takings on its London Eye millennium wheel.
The airline has set up a subsidiary to run the attraction and has already started taking bookings. Prices start at £7.45 for adults and £4.95 for children. Some 3.8m Britons are expected to visit the 135m-high wheel in 2000.
It opens to the public on New Year’s Eve for a special one-off ride, for winners of a BA competition. General admission starts in mid-January.
The ride lasts for 30mins and can accommodate 15,000 people a day in the enclosed capsules.
