Air France-KLM hails successful first year

In its first year of operation, the merged Air
France-KLM Group has recorded a net profit of 351 million euros, a
20.2% rise over 2004.

Board chairman Jean-Cyril Spinetta hailed its first year of
combined business as “a complete success” which had overcome the
sharp rise in oil prices.

In the year ended March 31, turnover increased 7.3% to 19.08
billion euros. Passenger revenues increased by 13.9%, to an
operating income of 312 million euros.

The airline said it expected to continue operating at a similar
income level for the current year. It added it was targetting a 5%
increase in capacity.

The two airlines merged in May 2004.
