Flights unaffected despite London attacks

Flight schedules are operating as normal at all the capital’s airports despite this morning’s terrorist explosions in central London.

Latest reports confirm two people died at Aldgate station and countless others have been injured by the blasts.

Airport authorities said they were reviewing the situation regularly, although a Stansted spokesman said it is unlikely any airports will shut without evidence of a direct threat.

No flights have been delayed or cancelled at this stage but airports are advising passengers to check flight schedules directly with their airlines.

Meanwhile, train services to airports have been affected. Gatwick Express services from Victoria station, and Stansted Express services from Liverpool Street station, have been suspended.

A Heathrow spokesman confirmed both Heathrow Connect and Heathrow Express rail services from Paddington were suspended “for about an hour” but are now back to their usual timetables.

All London Underground services have been suspended into Heathrow. However, a spokesman said tube passengers represent only 10% of all Heathrow passengers.
