APD campaigners to meet Treasury

F-air passenger duty for all

THEF-AIR Passenger Duty for all campaign is to meet representatives from the Treasury before Christmas to evaluate two options for reducing APD on low-cost flights.

The move follows a meeting with Customs and Excise on December 6, during which four possible options were discussed.

British Incoming Tour Operators Association chief executive Richard Tobias, the industry’s campaign leader, refused to reveal the two favoured options until after his meeting with the financial secretary to the Treasury, Stephen Timms. But he said the Government’s decision would not be known until the budget in March.
