Hunt for future stars

TWO of the industry’s leading executive recruitment companies are launching new divisions to attract travel’s top brass of tomorrow.

Argyle Recruitment and Gail Kenny Executive Search are broadening their focus to include middle managers in a bid to build career-long relationships with candidates.

But the rivals are taking different approaches to lure up-and-coming bosses – with Gail Kenny Executive Search specifically advertising for travel’s bright young things.

“We won’t be able to have age-specific advertising when new discrimination laws come into force next year, so we thought we’d better get in quick,” said agency founder and managing director Gail Kenny.

“The average salary of our appointments is around £75,000, but we are increasingly being asked by companies to find candidates for middle-management roles.”

Meanwhile, Argyle is encouraging all middle-management candidates to get in contact – whatever their age. Its new Argyle Extra division will deal specifically with product, sales and marketing roles with a salary of between £18,000 and £25,000.
