Denmark supplement 2005

CUSTOMERS come in all shapes and sizes – and this means that no two has the same expectation from a holiday. But whatever their needs, when they contact their travel agent customers are looking for one thing – expert advice.

You may think you know northern Europe and where to send even the most tricky client. But what you may not realise is that just across the North Sea is a country with thousands of miles of sandy beaches and cities bursting with history, fantastic nightlife, cutting-edge cuisine and great shopping. Inland, rolling countryside hides first-class golf courses, fishing and activity lakes, castles and cosy pubs at every turn.

Denmark has long been recognised as a leading destination for travellers with disabilities. West Jutland has a range of adapted accommodation and has recently joined forces with VisitDenmark to provide an Accessibility Label, awarded to service providers who can guarantee access to its facilities for wheelchair-users.

Many of you know all this and will have been selling Denmark for years, but all agents need a hand now and then fitting the right holiday to the right client. So in this guide you’ll find information about cities presented according to client type, selling tips listed wherever possible and sample product in every feature.

After reading the guide you might want to test your knowledge with our quiz on page nine. Send the answers back to us and you could win a weekend for two in Copenhagen. And next time you’re asked for a city, beach, active, or disabled-friendly holiday, from whatever customer walks through your door, you can confidently suggest Denmark.
