HOMEWORKING company Future Travel is starting up its own academy to give some agents the chance to work for Personal Travel Advisors.
The scheme, Future Travel Training Academy, will begin later this month and will cater for those already working for one of the United Co-op’s homeworking divisions, as well as new recruits.
Those currently working for Personal Travel Advisors are homeworkers who bring in their own client base.
Sales for the other brands, Instant Cruise Holidays, Instant Holidays, Holiday Now and Travel Now, are generally brought in through advertising and Teletext rather than just a client base. More than three quarters of Future Travel’s business is still brought in by Teletext.
Now managing director Alistair Roland has said he wants at least 50 homeworkers to move over and become PTAs this year.
He said: “They may come in through Teletext, go through the academy, then move to PTA. Our point is we have a whole learning experience to take them through their career.”
The Future Travel Training Academy will consist of a two-day induction followed by between six months and a year’s work, some of which will be on the job.
