ETA’s climate neutral breakdown cover

ETHICAL travel shouldn’t be something we only think about once a year when we go on holiday; travelling responsibly is a way of life and should affect our daily decisions too.

Whether that means taking the bus to work or getting on your bike is up to you, but nothing is likely to stop us from driving altogether. This is where the Environmental Transport Association comes in.

The ETA bills itself as an ethical alternative breakdown service. It provides the same roadside assistance as the AA and others, but last year introduced climate neutral cover to offset its clients’ carbon footprint.

Cover ranges from offsetting 1,000 miles worth of motoring (350kg of CO2 at £2.80) to an average British Citizen’s total annual emissions (11.3t of CO2 at £90).

The ETA is helping us put our money where our mouth is this week, offering one year’s free carbon offsetting for one agency.

It’ll cover your shop’s energy use, flights, your drive into work and more. It’s a bit different from our usual prizes, but remember – whoever wins, we all benefit.

And you’ll get a certificate to show off your eco-credentials.

For your chance to win, send a postcard to: ETA prize draw, Travel Weekly, Quadrant House, The Quadrant, Sutton, Surrey, SM2 5AS, giving your name, agency and daytime telephone number, by August 31.
