MUNDI Color is to launch an Italy programme for 2007, filling the gap left by Thomson’s decision to axe its Magic of Italy brand.
Tour operations manager Ray Steward said Mundi Color decided two months ago to expand into Italy, but knew the time was right when Thomson announced last month it was to axe its specialist programme.
“Agents booked Magic of Italy despite the growing unease they had about working with Thomson. However, for a while they have been saying if there was an alternative, they would sell that instead,” he said.
