Over the last few weeks, I have read with interest your items on Going Places’ volte face regarding the Pay and Reward Scheme.
A year ago I wrote a letter that ‘in spite of being one of the top sales persons in the north’ my salary was to drop from £11,600 to £9,600. I appealed but was informed again that exceptions could not be made as the scheme was a resounding success!
In April Iresigned.
In the job vacancy ads, stress was placed on the possibility of earning £18,000 as a sales person. Out of a sales force of 4,000 plus, only .01%achieved this figure as individual sales of £1,000,000 had to be reached. The average turnover for a good consultant was realistically £500,000.
I hope the new chief gets it right this time and listens to advice from the shop floor.
