Welcome back to the Thomas Cook Signature Training Academy!

There have been some movements in our fictitious travel agency recently, with staff coming and going – but we still give you the same entertainment!
The main focus is again to increase your Thomas Cook Signature sales by developing your knowledge and testing it as you go along.
We’ve broken the Training Academy down into bite-sized modules, thus giving you the chance to take a breather and let the learning sink in before you try the next one! You can choose to go at your own pace throughout. This year’s modules are:
- Core Training
- Specialist Training Part I
- Specialist Training Part II
- Supplier Training
Apart from the extra sales we hope this gives you, Thomas Cook Signature would also like to give you the chance of winning a place on a Thomas Cook Holidays Division educational.
For completing the modules you will receive the following:
Core Training – a certificate and a prize
Specialist Training parts I & II and Supplier Training: An additional certificate and prize
The modules are based on fictional characters and although you may recognise some of them, it’s purely coincidental!
Before you start, make sure you’ve got all the current Thomas Cook Signature brochures in stock as all the answers can be found in them. If you need to order any Thomas Cook Signature brochures, please do so through TCS4Agents.com. Follow the hints and tips closely as they will help guide you to some of the answers.
If you completed the Travel Academy last year, feel free to jump straight to the Specialist modules. However, to qualify for entry to the prize draw, you must complete all modules in this Academy.
So without further ado, let’s introduce the stars of the show…
Graham’s now starting his 11th year with the store and has been in the agency chain for much longer! He’s travelled extensively throughout Europe and although he’s just returned from Florida for the second time, his wife is starting to drop a few hints that something luxurious may be needed for their next trip. |
Caroline, who has been here for the past year but has three years’ previous experience in travel, is quite well to do and very well spoken. Her husband made his fortune in construction in Dubai over the past ten years, so Caroline was more used to the Arabian lifestyle before she took this job. |
Susie still works for the store three days a week and runs her aromatherapy business on the other days. Not only is she ambitious, she’s also a great asset at the end of a hard week (free neck massages are an essential part of our Friday wind-down!). Whilst travelling extensively throughout the Far East, she met her husband who she’s still happily married to. |
Ben’s still got the travel bug and continues to work to earn money for his next trip. Having explored Africa on many occasions, he’s now discovered South America and is 100% focused on making it to the Rio Carnival as soon as possible! Since Jess left to work as an 18-30 rep (and has since met a very nice Spanish waiter!), Ben’s been a little lost. If only he’d said how he felt…ah, bless him. |
Muriel continues to be the mother figure in the store and still hasn’t found Mr. Right (though not through lack of trying!). Having worked in the industry since leaving school, she is our most valuable asset in terms of travel knowledge. For a date with our Muriel, please forward a SAE to… |
One of newest recruits, Hannah adores Egypt and has just come back from a frantic shopping break in Toronto. Although she has some first-hand travel experience, she’s the first to admit that it could be better. Highly motivated, I’m sure she’ll be a great addition to the team. |
Having just finished a round the world trip, Scott is eager to stay in travel and build a career within the industry. The knowledge he gained whilst travelling will prove to be a major asset to the store (so long as he doesn’t get itchy feet again too soon!). |

So there’s two of the team that have left us. Firstly Jess, as we already know, and secondly Helen, who having tied the knot in her dream destination Sri Lanka is now happily married and taking a career break.
