THOMAS Cook has launched a major recruitment drive to fill management positions across the south of the country.
The jobs are for store managers and customer service managers. Experience is necessary but there will be some training involved to improve customer service and management skills.
The operator and agency promises competitive salaries, benefits and discounted holidays with the positions, while also pledging to develop the successful candidates’ careers.
Thomas Cook human resources consultant Helen Takla said: “We have not been successful in filling these roles, so decided to give them heightened exposure with specific adverts.
“It can be more challenging to fill roles in the south as people have higher wage demands and there is more choice,” Takla said.
Shop positions are around London and along the south coast and Channel Islands. Vacancies in the capital are in Hornchurch in east London, Ilford, Ealing, Finchley, Hounslow, Holborn and Wandsworth.
Others are in West Byfleet, Bournemouth, Gosport, Guernsey, Portsmouth and neighbouring Southsea, Yeovil and Paignton in Torbay.
The company is looking for at least two years’ retail experience and a background in running a team with a strong customer focus.
All potential managers will be measured by their levels of customer service and the implementation of Thomas Cook procedures.
Applicants have to be computer literate and have strong supervisory skills.
The customer service manager roles are in Lakeside, Maidenhead, Basingstoke, Huntington, Bury St Edmunds, Gosport, Eastleigh, Edgware, Richmond, Staines, Twickenham, Eastbourne, Purley and Kensington.
Again, the candidates have to be heavily customer focused. Thomas Cook wants candidates to have at least six months’ customer-facing experience.
It also wants excellent computer and motivational skills to meet its goals of a high standard of service to customers.
