Virgin Limited Edition adds Verbier ski lodge

Virgin Limited Edition, the exclusive holidays arm of Richard Branson’s empire, has announced its first ski resort destination.

Due to open in time for the 2007/08 ski season, The Lodge is situated in the exclusive Swiss resort of Verbier.

It is minutes from the main ski lifts and features nine designer rooms and suits as well as a special kids room for up to six children.

Virgin has invested £7.5 million in refurbishing the accommodation, which includes a private pool, plus indoor and outdoor spas.

Sales and marketing director of Virgin Limited Edition Janet Hoolohan said the company was preparing to brief agents on the new offering. “Face to face meetings are planned in the coming weeks to discuss how best to promote this ideal year-round getaway.

“We recognise and value the continued travel trade support for all Virgin Limited Edition properties, and look forward to working closely with our industry partners to launch this exciting new addition to our portfolio.”

With a 25 metre swimming pool, tennis courts and a golf course, Verbier also offers Alpine summer breaks as well as winter ski holidays.

Jon Brown, managing director of Virgin Limited Edition, said: “Adding a ski lodge was the next logical step and The Lodge in Verbier will be an ideal addition to our portfolio.”

The Verbier ski chalet joins Ulusaba game reserve in South Africa, Necker island in the British Virgin Islands, the Kasbah Tamadot in Morrocco, Sa Terra Rotja in Mallorca and London’s Roof Gardens in Kensington in the Limited edition family.
