Keycamp to offer carbon offsetting by 2007

KEYCAMP is increasing its green credentials with two new options prepared in time for its 2007 early bookings brochure.

The camping operator will offer the customers the chance to make a £4 donation to Climate Care in order to offset carbon emissions, created by either driving or flying to the camps.

Customers will also be given the chance to donate £1 to sustainable tourism charity The Travel Foundation. Agents booking concession trips will also be able to make donations to both charities.

Keycamp managing director Robin Parry said: “This is not just a marketing initiative but something that shall become inherent and fully embraced by all areas of the business.”

He added the operator was also working with mobile home manufacturers to ensure more of their parts are recycled when they come to the end of their natural lives while a move to e-brochures and more emails should help cut down on paper wastage.
