Travel Weekly’s Kelly Ranson has won the best newcomer category in the Business Travel Journalism Awards 2006.
Kelly joined Travel Weekly at the beginning of this year and immediately made a strong contribution to Travel Weekly’s business travel coverage.
Having started a career as an independent travel agent, she switched to journalism and worked at the Crawley News as a reporter and news editor before starting at Travel Weekly.
Other award winners included Buying Business Travel editor Mike Toynbee, who scooped the gongs for Special Achievement Award – Editor’s Choice and the People’s Choice Award.
Martin Cowen, editor at e-tid.com, won the business travel news journalist award, while e-tid.com won the business travel news electronic publication of the year award. The freelance award went to Bob Papworth while the business travel publication of the year award went to Business Travel World.
