Lastminute.com has created one central sales force across its trade brands.
Holiday Autos’ sales staff have joined Medhotels, Travel Agents Travel Club (TATC), Globepost and Holidayandmore.com, to create a 15-strong team headed up by head of sales Teresa Walsh who reports to group trade director Carl Burrows.
The restructure has seen the field sales team reduced from nine to six.
Burrows said: “It doesn’t make sense to have all the businesses going out to agents. Agents do not need the support they used to.”
Meanwhile, Lastminute.com has said its business-to-business division grew by over 60% this year and is expecting similar growth in 2007.
The company has just signed a distribution deal with Emirates.
