Crystal Cruises expands role for Ordever – 1 Dec 2006

Luxury cruiseline Crystal Cruise has expanded the role of UK vice president sales and marketing Philip Ordever to include the Middle East and Africa.

The move comes following a 70% increase in international sales over the last three years for the Japanese-owned operator.

Bill Smith, senior vice president sales and marketing said: “Three years ago we opened a sales and marketing office in London, headed up by Philip Ordever, which enabled us to successfully expand our presence in Europe.

“With the explosive growth occurring in Asia, we’re keen to increase our presence in these markets and to accomplish this we’re re-aligning our international territories to provide more direct coverage.”

Meanwhile Crystal has completed the refit of its Symphony cruise ship, including a new nightclub and a redesigned entertainment deck.

It has also transformed staterooms, bathrooms and reconstructed a social lounge and casino. New boutiques and shops have been decked in white marble, black accents and stone finish. The cruise operator has also added bistro and computer suite to the vessel.
