VisitBritain will start the new year with a new chairman as Lord Marshall of Knightsbridge is replaced by Christopher Rodrigues.
The appointment, which takes effect on January 1, has been made by the Department for Media, Culture and Sport which recognised Rodrigues’ past experience working for American Express and Thomas Cook as well as his time on the Executive Committee of the World Travel and Tourism Council.
Lord Marshall said: “His strong commercial and global experience will help in our work to explore new markets and develop new partnerships with the private sector on which our future tourism growth will depend.”
