Kosmar Holidays adds Bulgaria to Summer 2007 brochure – 18 Dec 2006

Kosmar Holidays is launching its first programme to Bulgaria following its acquisition by the XL Group.

Overseas manager Tracy Sharp said as a result of the buy-up last month, Kosmar is introducing eight properties in three Bulgarian resorts – Sunny Beach, Nessebar and Elenite – in a renamed second edition Summer 2007 Turkey, Egypt and Bulgaria brochure.

The move has been enabled by the acquisition which allows the operator greater access to sister company Excel Airways’ programme, she added.

Sharp said: “We know we have to push the Kosmar brand as we can’t just rely on our Greece offering. We’ve also got a lot of experience in the company and we want to expand.

“Joining XL is good as it has the aircraft and we’ve got the relationship with the retail trade to push new programmes.”

She was unable to say whether more countries will be introduced to next summer’s programmes, but added it was more likely the operator would now focus on growing existing programmes rather than new ones.

Sharp added: “I think everything’s in place for next year; we’ve now got a lot on our plate and we need to make sure it sells correctly.”

Other new product which has recently been introduced as a result of the deal include the operator’s western Mediterranean programmes in Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands.

Prices for the Bulgaria programme start at £369 per person for one week’s half board accommodation at the four-star Iberostar Sunny Beach Resort, departing May 1-10 and including return flights from Manchester or Gatwick.
