Cumbria Cruises adds online booking to website – 16 Jan 2007

Cumbria Cruises has added online bookability to its website as part of a £35,000 redesign.

Customers can now book Cunard, Ocean Village, P&O and Princess Cruises online.

The specialist cruise division of United Co-op Travel Group has also added real-time pricing from a raft of other major cruise operators to the site, with customers contacting the call centre to complete the booking.

The site also enables customers to view deck plans and itinerary details of their chosen cruise as well as link through to web cams of cruise ships’ current positions and take virtual tours of several ships and cabins.

Cumbria Cruises general manager Alison Westall said research by Hitwise UK had shown web surfers over the age of 55 years old visit cruise sites more than any other type of website.

She believed the site’s overhaul would give surfers all the information they needed to book a cruise.
