Sabre launches new air booking system – 26 Jan2007

Sabre has launched a new air fare searching system which allows agents to compare information on flights going to different airports in the same city.

The SabreAir system gives agents up to 12 different templates to display flights from one or more carriers

Sabre vice president Reet Wiseman said: “The system helps agents as it reduces the number of searches they have to do to find the cheapest and most convenient flight.”

The global distribution system has also launched Sabre MyFares which allows agents to load their private fares into the system.

SabreAir was launched in the US last year. An independent survey found the system found the lowest fare 21 times more often than the other GDSs, delivering a saving of more than 50%.

Wiseman said she expected the system to have a similar impact in the UK.
