n orient lines names aune as chairman



Orient Lines has named Geir Aune chairman and chief executive officer following the resignation of Gerry Herrod, the cruiseline’s founder. Aune is also president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line, which bought Orient last year (Travel Weekly May 13, 1998).



n legoland windsor invests in attractions



Legoland Windsor has invested £5m into new attractions to encourage visitor numbers over its first Christmas season. Among the new attractions is Santa’s Toy Factory where children will be able to write letters to Father Christmas, a 25mins Peter Pan pantomime and Cinderella puppet panto. Lego Christmas trees have been built and distributed throughout the park. The expanded theme park is open every day until January 3, except Christmas Day. Tickets cost £17 for an adult and £14 for children.
