TheTrainline has today launched a carbon emissions reporting service at the Business Travel Show in London’s Earl’s Court exhibition centre.
TheTrainline’s mileage database calculates the amount of carbon dioxide generated by rail travel and the information may then be requested as an added extra by corporate clients in their monthly management information report.
TheTrainline’s sales and distribution director Adrian Watts said the service has been provided following calls from customers wanting to manage their carbon footprints.
“TheTrainline’s new carbon emission reporting service will provide those customers who request it with the information they need to monitor and reduce their business travel carbon footprint,” he said at the BTS. “We believe that this product will become industry standard in the future.”
See this week’s Travel Weekly for an interview with TheTrainline’s chief executive Alan Tomlin about his plans for working more closely with the trade and sheep farming.
