Air France-KLM expand routes from London City Airport – 20 Feb 2007

Air France-KLM will launch a series of routes from London City in March, expanding its network from two routes to ten.

The merged airline will add Geneva, Zurich, Madrid, Milan (Linate), Nice, Edinburgh, Dundee and Belfast, with routes operated by Air France franchise-carrier CityJet.

CityJet already flies six times a day in Air France colours from London City to Paris Orly and five times to Dublin, where it is based.

Most services will be aboard 95-seat Avro RJ85 aircraft, although CityJet also operates an aging fleet of BAe146s.

Air France senior vice-president for Europe Etienne Rachou said: “We are providing business clientele with access to a network straight from the heart of London, strengthening our position as leader in this market.”

The carrier has reported a 31% rise in profits for the nine months to December to Euro1.23 billion.
