n contracts cancelled



JMC has cancelled contracts worth £20m with overseas hoteliers and property owners which it says are not up to scratch. Managing director Simon Vincent said some properties were in remote locations, others had increased their prices too much and some had been removed after the operator spoke to customers.

Keith Bailey Travel founder and managing director Keith Bailey is to become chairman of the company. Finance director Paul Bailey will take over the MD’s position at the business travel agency.



n klm axes service



KLMUK is axing its thrice-daily Stansted-Brussels service on December 19. The airline said that it needed the BAE146 jet used on the route for its low-cost operation Buzz, which will commence flights in January. KLMUK passengers who hold Brussels tickets will be routed via Amsterdam or given full refunds.



n jarvis pre-tax profits



Jarvis Hotels’ pre-tax profits were £19.4m in the six months to October. Year-on-year turnover increased 4.5% to £81.1m.
