A leading member of Advantage Business Travel has hit out at a survey suggesting travel management companies short-change clients.
The survey, on behalf of German-based Hotel Reservations Service, revealed 45% of corporate clients question the independence of agents, 9% expect advice on visas, 5% expect the best deals and 3% expect to be notified about flight changes or security issues.
Director of Travel Alliance and Advantage director for business travel Doreen Duncan said: “We would have no customers if we did not give the best deal to 100% of clients. That is why we charge a fee.
“There is no bias in our advice. We go by location, the best available rates and client preference.”
