Silversea unveils upgraded spa facilities for its fleet – 28 Mar 2007

luxury cruiseline Silversea Cruises is to create new spas on its four ships.

Silver Shadow will be the first vessel to get the Spa at Silversea refurbishment replacing the Mandara Spa. It will feature new treatments designed to offer a more personalised experience based on guest’s individual needs and lifestyle.

Silversea’s chief operations officer Erling Frydenberg said: “This is a further step in the evolution of our comprehensive Wellness Programme, which we introduced across our fleet last year.

“Being able to maintain a healthy lifestyle away from home is becoming increasingly important to today’s affluent traveller and we want to ensure our guests have access to a spa, beauty and fitness centre that caters to their personal needs with an exclusive selection of innovative treatments and state-of-the-art spa technology.”

As well as the new spa, Silver Shadow offers body age assessment technology that tests body fat, cardiovascular health, strength and flexibility to see how the guest’s body age compares with his or her actual chronological age.

Based on the results, personal trainers can design a lifestyle programme specifcially for the guest and recommend an onboard fitness and dining regime.

Men are also catered for. The Spa has incorporated speciality grooming services, including facials and barbering services. There is also a half day of pampering for the face and body. Treatments for couples are also available.
