New editor at Travel Weekly – 31 May 2007

New Travel Weekly editor Sarah LongbottomTravel Weekly’s new editor, Sarah Longbottom, joins on Monday.

Longbottom joins from Newtrade Publishing’s Retail Newsagent, which she has edited for the past 18 months. Previously she worked on Air Cargo Week and spent seven years at the Middle East and North Africa edition of Travel Trade Gazette.

Longbottom said: “I’m looking forward to moving. It’s about readers and what they want and making sure we deliver.”

She takes the helm from acting editor Martin Couzins, who assumes the newly created role of online editor. Couzins’ role will be to develop Travel Weekly’s online information and services, including increased news delivery, business resources, video, blogs and podcasts.

Meanwhile, deputy features editor Emily Ashwell will take over as Skills Zone editor and acting Skills Zone editor Juliet Dennis will return to the news desk as chief reporter.
